Lean Six Sigma Projects

Our unique model of creating a Lean Six Sigma ecosystem has majorly three stakeholders – Learners, Mentors, Entrepreneurs. We will try to bring in all three stakeholders together in a common platform, where everyone can contribute and learn. But all stakeholders must follow certain guidelines and dos & don’ts.

Eligibility:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in any stream, preferably min 2-3 years of job experience

Dos :

  • Learn the basics of lean six sigma methodologies through the resources given at the end of this guidebook. Also, you can purchase any recommended books which might help you to understand and implement the methodologies.
  • During your journey of learning post your doubts in the forum. If you have a basic idea of the lean six sigma methodologies, test yourself with our sample quiz link.
  • Once you pass our free quiz, you may go ahead and enroll in any of the professional certification agencies to get your training and subsequently certifications
  • Post your achievement of certifications here to encourage other participants in the group.
  • Once you have cleared your exam and now you are a yellow belt/Green belt/Black belt you must complete a few projects.
  • In so many situations you may not get a project in your own organizations. In such situations if you are willing to do a project in another volunteer organization we can help to find one – however, the location would be a challenge here.
  • Even if you are not able to get a project, you must show the use of tools you have learned in your job area. The forum will help you to use those tools effectively.
  • Once you have shared your achievements you can slowly take complex problems and move to the next levels.
  • You will have a start and an end date for enrollment and course completion.
  • You have to share your project details/tool usage details before the deadlines.

Don’ts:

  • Don’t share pricing, feedback about the training of any certification agencies, our group objective is only to help you, not to promote or demote any other institutions.
  • Post your doubts with an attempt not at first
    • Example “what is the mean, standard deviations, median, the trimmed mean of the attached dataset.
    • Your answer should not be “ can you share how to calculate trimmed mean”
    • Your answer should be I used the formula XXXX for trimmed mean and the answer is y, mentors can you help if I am right or wrong?
  • We would expect all members to be brutally honest in the forum, for any opinion and acceptance of any mistakes.

  • We have come across questions related to process improvement methodologies like six sigma, theory of constraints, PDCA from a learner’s point of view. It’s not necessarily in initial stages, but across the life cycle of a Lean Six Sigma learner.
  • Questions like what is Lean Six Sigma, where can I get my certifications, which are the best institutes in my location, how to choose the best institute, and many more.
  • These are all relevant questions, if not addressed properly we can have a pool of six sigma certified professionals who won’t able to extract the best out of this knowledge. Post whatever question you have in mind, simply because it would be someone else’s question also who have not raised. Or even don’t have an idea about this question.
  • As a member of the community please share as many questions as possible for the mentors to answer.
  • You can go for a professional certification from any of the institutes of your wish, but our community would be here to help you till the time you are self-sufficient to complete your own six sigma, continuous improvement, kaizen projects on your own.
  • Share your success stories here and motivate others to complete the same.
  • We are here to help until you are successful enough to be a mentor in this forum itself. Obviously, this would take at least 3-5 years with dedication, commitment, and experience.

Eligibility:

  • Bachler degree and above
  • Certification or experience of six sigma, problem-solving methodologies
  • Training and mentoring certification and experience

Dos :

  • Complete assessments to enroll in Mejora as a mentor
  • Respond to the doubts/clarifications raised by anyone in the forum
  • Share at least one article/Post each week from the following
    • How to use any tool
    • Example of a statistical problem
    • Mini cases

Don’ts:

  • No offline discussion with any learners individually without Majora’s approval
  • No commercial discussion with anyone in the group, be it mentors, learners, or individuals.
  • Do not respond with the answer to a clarification where the post doesn’t show any attempt by the learner, standard reply to those posts would be “Request to attempt and post here for us to correct you, as per Mejora’s policies”.

  • As you would have already done many projects across your lean-six sigma journey, people would seek your guidance. Share your views and gain the attention of the crowd who wants to learn and implement the LSS methodologies.
  • It’s an opportunity to showcase your talent to learners who might subscribe your services.
  • The forum would seek your opinions to take this forward and ensure as a unit we are on the right track.

  • Understand broad methodology of lean six sigma, before implementation
  • Dedicated time for the participants at least 4-8 hrs per week
  • Support to trainees during the project to understand the process, even if required a physical or virtual gemba walk
  • Assign a SPOC to help trainees implement the recommendations on the ground
  • Trainees for the Lean six sigma projects would need support interms of RCA & Recommendation, be an SME – Subject matter expert to the trainees , which will ensure they don’t re do the same mistakes which you might have tried and failed already
  • Trainees are not full time employees , they will work as per agreed time lines .
  • No financial transactions direct to the trainees , any commercial involved mejora will treat it as an consulting project and would assign professionals to deliver the results.

  • An entrepreneur has a dual and most important role to play. As they would be partially learning the concepts also allow others who are learning this to implement it in their organizations.
  • The thought process of using the methodology to benefit the business, satisfy its customers cannot come from an employee. This can only be driven by an entrepreneur.
  • Learn the methodologies first. Either allow one or two other team members to learn and start implementation with the small tools only. Once it’s done share the success story with others in the forum for others to learn and get motivated to complete more projects.
